The 3D VFX Designer is passionate about computing and a project manager. He or she possesses impressive knowledge of image culture, and can refer constantly to art history, film, 2D and 3D animation, with special knowledge of the history of the synthetic image since its creation. He or she is also very creative. With a gift for drawing, he or she creates what doesn’t exist : buildings, characters, decors, vehicles.

He or she models, produces and lights virtual worlds whether as fixed or animated images. He or she works in architecture, industry, advertising, film, animated film or video games. But the magic of the image demands an excellent technical and artistic command. There are numerous professional software packages to help in the task. Amongst the most well-known, let us mention Autodesk® with 3DS-Max®, Maya® for modelling and animation, Z-Brush® for digital sculture, VRay® for rendering, Nuke® for editing and compositing, Photoshop® photo-editing, Substance® for  texture creation and Unity® for the creation of video games. The skill-set is wide-ranging, which is why the 3D Designer has a wide experience of collaborative work and considerable production times.
